I had a strange dream right before I woke today:
Rashida and I were standing in my house. We saw bugs on my ceiling, and I said that it was because I had left the screen door open. But when I looked over to the door, I saw that it was closed. Focusing in on the bugs, one particular spider appeared to grow larger, and another bug-turned-spider was half it's size. The bigger spider speedily approached the smaller one and began attacking it. They raced around my ceiling. I ran into my kitchen and Rashida stood, poised for cover, in my hallway. “The one that’s attacking has such big eyes,” She said. Then I heard my dad’s voice waking me up, I felt a rush of blood through my body. The last time I felt that sensation was when I had the dream that I had died.
When I tried to interpret it, I thought--what if the big spider is the US and the small spider is that third world and we are just spectators in this maddness? It seems like it is not my fault b/c I did not leave the door open, so where did the spiders come from? Why is one attacking the other? Thanks dad, now I don't know how it ends...but maybe we're not meant to know and we can create our own ending. Down with the spiders, jk.
